PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Karen likes to keep in shape. She's had two kids and she's never had to work for anything. She doesn't have a job, nor does she do anything in the meantime. She's a stay-at-home mum. And she loves it. Rupert, her husband, pays for everything. Her gym membership. Her spa membership. Everything. She spends the majority of her time in the gym, while Rupert’s at work, and while the kids are in school. It helps her relax, feel better and, most importantly, look good. Her Instagram feed has never been more popular. But Rupert doesn't know about that. Of course he doesn't. He's too self-absorbed to pay attention to anything she does. And she wants to keep it that way.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Karen was always one of the pretty girls at school. The ones who got with the jocks, lost her virginity at the age of fifteen, and then never looked back. She was almost so popular, that it went to her head. She became image-obsessed, and not soon after her GCSEs started, she became anorexic. She battled with herself to lose more and more weight, to keep up with the models and the divas of the fashion world. It was what she lusted after.
When she eventually became pregnant with Erica at twenty, her body suffered, and she was forced to gain the weight, otherwise, it would have had adverse effects of Erica’s health. After she'd given birth to Erica and Felicity, she gained loads of weight. And since Rupert has been wealthy, she's been able to afford a personal trainer and a psychologist to keep her on track, to make sure she doesn't damage herself again.
Nobody knows why or where her desire to lose drastic amounts of weight came from. It wasn't anything at home. She had a nice childhood. And her parents and brother loved her very much, even though she doesn't keep in contact with them now.
A few years ago, they all had a family disagreement about Rupert and his line of work. They didn't like who he was defending, and how he was making his money. But Karen stuck by him and defended him. Said that he was just doing his job, and doing it well. Said that there was nothing illegal about what he was doing.
LIKES/DISLIKES
Fashion and make-up. If she were to appear on a television show, it would most likely begin with The Real Housewives of… she adores the programme, and aspires to be like one of the wives from there. In fact, one of her closest friends has appeared on the programme, and Karen Haversham has a minor role to play in it. She was only one of the extras, but she made the most of her five minutes of fame. The worst thing is, she even tried to campaign for a small blue tick on her Instagram profile. She's like a teenager — social media image obsessed.
โ
One thing she doesn't like, completely unrelated, is cheese. She hates it. Can't stand it. The smell. The taste. The texture. Whenever her and Rupert go on a date — which seldom happens — she feels sick every time he has something with cheese on. Even a pizza she turns her nose up at. She struggles when she's in the shops to pick it up and put it in the trolley.

OTHER
What was her most embarrassing moment? Admitting I had a problem. I know it’s not embarrassing. And I know it’s not a weakness, but to me it was. I realise now what was wrong, and that’s why I try and empower some women to admit they have a problem, and I try to get them help. I don’t want them to make the same mistakes I did.
What’s her greatest strength? Deadlift. I can deadlift a lot of weight — one and a half times my own weight. I can do more than most men can. And I pride myself on that fact. I started only a couple of years ago, and I’ve been working hard to get where I am now. I have a lot of dedication towards it. Thanks to my personal trainer. Without him, I don’t think I would have been able to make the improvements to my body that I have. I feel comfortable in my own skin.
What’s her greatest flaw? Not knowing when to stop. Sometimes I spend too much time in the gym, and neglect Erica and Felicity. But they have all they want, so there shouldn’t be an issue. They have all the latest toys and gadgets — they certainly have a lot more than I did when I was their age.
Proudest achievement? Giving birth to my two amazing girls. They’re so understanding, kind and considerate. I love them more than anything. My body comes a close second.
Biggest secret… What Rupert doesn’t know won’t hurt him. And he’ll never find out, so I have no worries.
